Philippines - Vigan

This postcard was sent by Marlon! This is another postcard of Vigan, showing some typical houses, an UNESCO World Heritage. The Vigan heritage houses are the best preserved example of a planned Spanish colonial town in Asia, it was popularly known in the past as "Kasangalayan" (where the chinese live), contains the largest concentration of ancentral homes and other colonial-era architecture; although considered as spanish, the architecture is actually a combination of mexican and chinese styles, with filipino flourishes such as sliding capiz shell windows.
